Religion doesn't support science? why?

Religion supports anything that leads to stable, predictable congregations - they need followers who they can count on to fight wars at home and abroad. Intelligence and education lead people to question religious beliefs, to seek inner truths that are not dictated by scriptural dogma. An open and enlightened society is not a religious society - the church knows that and discourages it.
