Sublease Law question?

She is within her rights. You fouled up by not making sure that your sublessor paid the rent. Your agreement with the sublessor should have said that you would pay the landlord directly to insure that this was done. You are lucky you are not being evicted right away. If your sublessor fails to comply with his obligtations then the landlord is within her rights to evict anyone who is claiming rights through her original tenent.
